Photos are missing from "people".

I'm using Photos (Version 2.0 (451.20.9)) with macOS Sierra 10.12.1.

Photos didn't scanned for new faces so I rebuilt the library.

Since then, photos are missing and not showing in the "People" section.

They appear in the Photos and All Photos albums but they are missing from "People".

In the home screen of "People" I see the correct number of photos for each person but inside this person, most of the photos are missing.

For example, in the main screen a person have 5328 photos but inside i see only 832 after i'm clicking the "see all" in the upper right corner.

Adding more photos to this person seems to change the number from 5328 to 5329 and inside from 832 to 833.

Any ideas? : /

Thank you!

I am only seeing missing photos in the People album, if photos are hidden.

When I am searching with a smart album for all photos of a person that are also hidden, the found photos explain the missing photos from the People album for that person.

But you are seeing the missing Photos in the Photos view? Then they cannot be hidden. Or are you only seeing them in All Photos and other albums?

The update to macOS 10.12.4 added a few bug fixes to the People albums. Have you considered to update?

Hi,

I see them in All Photos and other albums.

They are missing just from the People albums.

I rebuild the library again and nothing changed.

And i don't have any updates. Just to beta version.

I'm on iMac late 2009 (And survived so far! : ).

I might found something.

Maybe it's just showing wrong number in the People album for each person.
I found that the photos that are missing from the people album aren't tagged with a face.

For some reason the photos are de-tagged but the count of the total left the same!

The other problem is that it's not finding the new photos although they aren't tagged.

I don't know what to do.

Thank you!

I see them in All Photos and other albums.

If Photos are only showing in Albums (All Photos, other albums), but not in the People Albums and the Moments, check your "Hidden" album. Is it empty? Hidden photos will show in all albums, but not in the People album.

The other problem is that it's not finding the new photos although they aren't tagged.

I'm not sure what you mean? Is photos not scanning photos you recently imported for faces?

Is your library an iCloud Photo Library or is it only local?

Photos are missing from "people".
