I have been getting an error -43 when trying to delete two files I have tried to move them to the trash and I get this error and I have tried moving them one at a time and still get the same error
The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found. (Error code -43)
Seems as though the Mac OS is rotting from the inside ...

From your Finder "Go" menu > "Go to folder"
Copy and paste this file path:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
Delete the .plist file
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You may have to reset some Finder prefs the way you like them.)

Try holding the Option/Alt key while clicking on Empty Trash.
I used Command + Option + Delete at the same time. That did it.

I am having this this happen again even after a restart. The fact that I can not delete a file from the desktop is just wrong. Something is wrong in the system if this is happening.

Yes, that is wrong. Try creating a new user account or using your Guest account, then test to see how it works there. This is to find out if the problem is limited to your user or systemwide.
SO if it is only in my user. How do I fix it?
