Apps not showing under 'mobile data'
Hey there,
I got a problem with the "mobile data" section on my iPhone. Some weeks ago just from one day to the other I suddenly wasn't anymore able to toggle mobile data on and off for single apps, they're just not showing up any longer.
I still got this problem although I did a lot to resolve this:
- downloading new app, using it only on cellular
- reinstalling apps, then using them only on cellular
- looking for apps down in the settings menu and for the mobile data switch inside their menu, it's not showing up (see next picture a bit below)
- resetting network preferences
- changing to another sim-card
- hard-resets, reboots
After all this didn't work I made a backup of my iPhone, did reset it completely and set it up as a new device. Then I installed an app and voilá, I had the switches back. Only problem: there's important data in the backup so I installed it again. Guess what? The problem is back again. This leads me to the first finding: something in the backup seems to be corrupt.
As all those things didn't help I didn't know any further than to wait for an upcoming iOS-Update to maybe magically fix this. This update happend two days ago (now running 10.3) but nothing changed. Still not able to see any of those switches. Yes, I did a full restart and hard reset several times after the update.
Now I'm here hoping for some help out of this community...I don't have any more ideas what to do.
PS: In case you wonder: this actually is a huge problem as a) I can't just set it up as a new device, the backup is too important and b) mobile data in Germany is so expensive that I constantly run out of it since I'm not any longer able to prevent specific apps from using it. And ****, this stuff just is supposed to work.
