what app for my Mac works like publisher?

I would like to be able to make a thank you card on my Mac that I can print and fold to fit envelope 5 3/8 x 4 1/4. I have found thank you cards on pages but it doesn't allow you to put text inside the card like I would like to do. What I'm looking for is to be able add the text for my thank you card in side the card, add pictures, logo, signature, make a template. Is there a program or app that is like publisher or word for Mac?

iMac, iOS 10.0.1

Pages can easily do what you want.

Make a dummy of the card sketching where you want text and images then simply reproduce that in Pages.

It will need two pages one fro the back + front and the second for the two inside pages unfolded.

If you do not have a duplexing printer then test & make notes of which way you have to feed back printed stock to get the second pair of pages on the opposite side of the sheet facing up the right way.

You can also do your card with all 4 pages showing on the same side of the card and by rotating and turning over the paper in the printer creating two sets of double side cards that you cut in half, then fold to have two cards.

If you like I can diagram it for you, but you can mock that up yourself on a piece of paper and follow that in your layout.

Once you have created what you want, turn all the text and images into Placeholders and:

Menu > File > Save as Template

What you are trying to do can be done easy with Pages. Set the layout up as a custom page size, and double sided printing. Depending on if your printer supports duplex printing or not, or if you have to feed one side and flip the paper manually and print one side at a time.

I create cards like this all the time. I have to rotate/flip manually since my printer is not a duplex printer.

I use Pages 4.3 (iWork '09) for my DTP needs. Pages 5 & 6 are lacking over 100 features that are in earlier versions of Pages, many that most who do DTP consider mandatory.

You might want to consider a dedicated DTP program such as Swift Publisher or Printworks, both by Belight Software. Some others I found by doing a search for "desktop publishing" on MacUpdate.com are iStudio Publisher, Publisher Plus for Mac & Desktop Publisher Pro. I have never tried the last two.
