iOS 10 downloaded but won't install

I downloaded iOS 10.3 but when I install it it just says verifying update then says update failed after a while. I tried updating using my computer but itunes says my phone is already up to date at iOS 9.3 (which is obviously not up to date). What must I do? I have a GB of space available even AFTER the update has been downloaded so I don't think space is an issue.

Hi sabrina118,

I understand that you tried to update your iPhone to iOS 10.3 but it failed after verifying, and now iTunes tells you that it's already up to date with iOS 9.3. I'm happy to provide some help for this issue.

Remove and download the iOS update again

If you still can't install the latest version of iOS, try downloading the update again:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage. Under Storage tap Manage Storage.
  2. Find the iOS update in the list of apps.
  3. Tap the iOS update, then tap Delete Update.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest iOS update.

If you don’t see the update in the list of apps or if the issue happens again, you need to update your device with iTunes.
