How to export sound samples as 16 bit file.

I have purchased a Roland SPD-SX sound sampler. To use it as I intend I must be able to convert/export any sound sample whether purchased or free, into a 16 bit sound file. As this is the only type I can use in the Roland SPS-SX. I need to do this with Logic Pro X.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

... which is not to say you couldn't also do it in Logic...

- Import the audio you want to use into a track (stereo or mono is your choice) ... (shortcut SHFT+CMD+I)

- Select and SOLO the channel you are working with (if there are other tracks in the project, you don't want them mixed in to the resultant output)

- Bounce (shortcut CMD+B) to a PCM type file, set the bit depth to 16, and go for it.

Obviously this allows you to use other bit-depth files for source material too (8-bit if you're an LO-RES fan; 24-bit if you're trying to make a purchased library down convert to 16 bit; etc.)
