How to hide location services in menu bar.

After upgrading to 10.12.4 today, the location services icon appeared in my menu bar and cannot be removed by using command+drag off screen.

This screen is the only place I've found that may control the setting but it's disabled by default. https://i.stack.imgur.com/FbCkQ.png

It's not a huge deal and may disappear after 24 hours or a restart but I'm curious if anybody else experienced this or has ideas.

Thanks! 🙂

Could not see the image you've posted so not sure if its the same, but this is location of controlling the icon - might be worth playing around with the "Show location icon.." tick box to see if you can get things working again.

FWIW I have Location Services enabled and even after latest update the icon appears in the menu for a few seconds then disappears, which I believe is normal - if yours is staying in the menu it might point to the service being in constant use for some reason, not sure why though.
