Avoid Night Shift when Adjusting the Colors of an Image

macOS 1012.4 brought the new feature Night Shift. The colors of the display can be shifted to warmer colors during the darker hours. That is nice for the eyes, but a booby trap when adjusting the colors of an image.

A photo taken at mid day will look on the display like a photo taken in the late afternoon sun, with very warm colors.

Night Shift will also be applied while adjusting photos, so we do not see the actual colors of our photo, when we try to adjust the white balance.

For example:

A photo as displayed with Night Shift active: It looks like taken in the afternoon sun in the adjustment panel.

And without Night Shift:

I had to take the screen captures with my iPhone, because the Macs Screen Shots ignore the Night Shift effect.
