Word documents with Courier Italic will not print in Mac OS Sierra.

Word for Mac 2011

Mac OS 10.12.3 Sierra

Documents containing any words in Courier Italic font will not print - locks up MFP.

Noticed that Word names this font Courier Italic while Sierra names this font Courier Oblique.

Courier New Italic prints fine, but it is named Courier New Italic in Sierra.

Any way to fix this?

Download and install a real Courier Italic font in your ~/Library/Fonts folder. Preferably a free OpenType version.

Try selecting the font from the list in the Font Book application and then:

Applications > Font Book > File > Validate Font
