I got this message on my TV app that says it "We can't show your Up next list right now. Try again later". I have tried restarting and closing everything out. I try signing in and out of my Apple ID. I've tried disconnecting my wifi and reconnecting. Nothing has changed in 48 hours. It's Ben to much time waiting. What should I do?
Turns out you can clear your play history and Up Next will work again, but you will have to start over from scratch: your Up Next will be empty but you will be able to add to it again.
To clear your play history:
The clearing of the history is only a temporary fix on my side. I did it and rebuild my Up Next section (fun :-)). But after watching two episodes the problem occured again (We canˋt show you Up Next list right now. Try again later). So there seems to be a bigger problem, which started with the last update.
I hope they will sort it out soon.
After clearing my history, I started rebuilding my Up Next list with a few TV shows and movies. Everything was fine (the list was in sync between my two devices also), then I added one more TV show and got the "can't show Up Next" message. But less than a minute later, the list came back (not the original, pre-clearing, list, mind you).
Thank you for the info I marked solved but I think apples gotta figure out a real fix so you don't have to start over every time it doesn't want to work. I do think the the "Mark episode watched" feature is a great help to building back your status but should only u have to use it for old shows once.
Same here. After 10.3 all my devices were displaying "We can't show your Up next list right now. Try again later".
This morning, I updated my iPhone and iPad to 10.3.1 and the feature started working again for a bit.
Side note: I didn't reset my TV history as it is suggested by the solution post in this thread.
But this afternoon, it stopped working again! This kind of indicates that Apple is probably working on this feature on the server side. It could be an iCloud sync issue that only happens under specific circumstances which stops this service on an account basis. Also, I noticed the "Mark episode watched" appeared without a firmware update (on AppleTV 10.1.1)...which adds to the possibility that this was done on the server side.
At last, I checked the iCloud System status page to see if there was some indication of a temporary issue but there is no section for the TV App "Watch Now/Up Next" feature.
I'm surprised that there isn't too much buzz about this issue...which kind of indicates that it isn't a feature as popular as most of the people in this thread would like, including me. Or only a small portion of accounts are affected. Hopefully Apple will find and fix the issue soon!
I was able to fix this (for who knows how long) by only reseting the history for a few seldom used apps such as TBS and TLC Go. This brought everything else back. It's worked for two days so far. It doesn't appear to be necessary to reset everything.
Same here. Started around the same time. Tried the same fixes.
This is happening to me across all of my devices (iPhone, Apple TV, iPad). It seemed to begin after upgrading to iOS 10.3 last week.
Good to know! I'll try this next time it happens.
But as of now, 6:10 PM PST, the feature is back online for me. Once more, I didn't reset any TV history.
