Apple wallet doesn't show boarding passes (IOS 10.1)

Since ~6 weeks, my Apple Wallet shows boarding passes (the one needed in the given time) only in the lock screen, but not in the App itself (there the app pretends to be completely empty). The situation is same on both of my iPhones (with same Apple ID).

I now have many (~20) passes somewhere in the Wallet that I would like to erase, but cannot. Also, I would like the App to restart showing the passes too.

Has anyone encountered the same issue?

Hello Tkaisr,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to see your passes in the Wallet app, but they do show up on the lock screen. If you haven't already, force close the Wallet app and restart your iPhone as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iOS software running properly. iOS clears cached data and does other system optimizations when you turn your device off and on.

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If your issue is not resolved after these steps, we would like you to reinstall iOS on your device; this will help us isolate the situation further. Reinstalling iOS should not affect any of your data, but it is always a best practice to make sure you have a current backup in either iTunes or iCloud.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once you have a current backup, follow the steps from the "If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up" section in this article:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on

These steps will reinstall iOS. Keep in mind that these steps were written for a different issue, but they will still help us isolate the situation further. Cheers!

Thanks for replying, Tkaisr, and that additional info, it really helps! According to this article, the Wallet app is not an app that can be removed, so reinstalling the iOS software is the appropriate next step for your issue.

Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS device with iOS 10
