itunes purchases with 2 Part Verification

My apple account is setup for Apple 2 part authentication. When I try to purchase a song in itunes, I get a Apple ID Verification code, but back in itunes there isn't a place to enter the code. This prevents me from purchasing the song. Any suggestions what is required in itunes (on my Mac) to enable requesting this information?

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean 2 Factor Authentication or 2 Step Verification?

Either way, when signing in to iTunes, after you enter your Apple ID and password, a box like this should pop up, waiting for your code.

It sounds like you may not have signed in to iTunes recently.

Try signing out from your iTunes account, then sign back in, getting your code and then make then purchase.

Hi,

That's the box I'm expecting, but never get. I am logged into my account in iTunes. I add a song to the wish list for example, then when I click on the purchase price it asks for my account and password. I expect to see the screen I should enter the result but never see it. I am thinking there must be a setting on the Mac to join the 2-part authentication? This added security started when I updated the iPhone.
