How can I access the iPad Pro's microphone when the Smart Keyboard is connected?

First my specs.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st gen)
128 GB capacity
Wi-Fi only
Apple Smart Keyboard

iOS 10.3.2 (14F5065b)

I want to access the microphone while the Smart Keyboard is connected.

Apparently there isn't a shortcut for that, nor is there one for pulling up the software keyboard, which has a microphone key.

Pressing the Globe key on the Smart Keyboard doesn't activate the software keyboard.

It's rather inconvenient to either detach or fold the Smart Keyboard into the Watch position just to access the microphone.

Thank you for any advice you can give.

I found the solution!

(Running iOS 10. Not sure if it will change with iOS 11)

While the Smart Keyboard is connected, there is a small downward arrow in the bottom right corner.

If you tap on that arrow, then the small shortcut/autocorrect bar disappears.

BUT if you touch and hold that arrow, the whole keyboard appears onscreen along with the dictation microphone and anything else on the the software keyboard.

Personally I find it helpful because I sometimes use the Hebrew keyboard and having the whole keyboard onscreen is very useful.

Enjoy!
