Taking photos when holding camera flat, parallel to the ground

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about your pictures. Since the camera uses the internal gyroscope for angels and orientation, the best recommendation I can offer is to help you rotate your pictures. Once you take your picture, you can click on it in the lower left corner of the camera. Once there, click the crop tool. You can choose to crop it if you like, but if not, then go ahead and click on the rotation tool in the bottom left corner. Depending on how the gyroscope is set, you may need to rotate it one, or multiple times to get it to show properly in Landscape Mode. To see good examples of this, here is an article:

The article actually doesn't have a section specific for rotating the picture, but the example picture in the article does show that if you are looking at your picture in Photos and click the crop tool: . The next picture shows a good example of the picture as it looks inside the crop tool, which shows the the location of the rotation tool: .
