Hello, I am a pc user with an apple airport extreme that I use for my router. For various reasons I need port forwarding enabled and can't seem to find any information on how to do so from a windows computer. I have airport utility installed I just can't seem to find the settings. If anybody knows how to enable port forwarding from a windows computer please help me.

The windows version of the airport utility is not rated to handle the latest AC version Extreme or Time Capsule. Does not mean it won't work .. but Apple have no interest in supporting it.

As long as your Extreme is Gen5 or earlier then it will be fine.

The instructions for the Windows version of the Airport utility 5.6 are identical to the Mac version.

See https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3414

The alternative is if you have an iphone or ipad or even later ipod you can use iOS version airport utility which is rated to AC version AE.

Port Forwarding.....(Apple calls it Port Mapping).....can only be enabled if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem.....not a modem/router or gateway type of device that most providers furnish to their customers.

So, before you head down a long, twisty road that will lead to a dead end, it might be a good idea to first check to make sure that the AirPort Extreme will be compatible with the modem type that you are using.

What is the make and model number of the device that you call your "modem"?
