iPhone 7 plus Product Red call quality issues

I have recently purchased an iPhone 7 plus product red model and have been having issues with call quality. There are interjections of odd screeching sounds almost like the phone is under water when it hasn't even come into contact with water. My iOS is 10.2.1 and the model I have is 128gb. Phone was only purchased 5 days ago.

Is this a handset issue or a sim issue - how should I go about resolving it??

You are welcome. In US Apple Stores you have 14 days to return a device. Since your phone is only 5-6 days old you should not have a problem, barring user caused damage. The phone should have a 1 year warranty. Good luck.

I too have the same issue . But the phone has been taken from usa to india. I have taken it to the icare in india. The have initiated for replacement. Am waiting to get my phone. I don know will they give me a new one or a refurbished one. If it's refurbished means it will also be meant as a repaired phone which has been corrected and tested

This thread makes me feel so much better! I thought I was the only one having this issue. I'm thinking it was a handset issue for myself. I ended up returning two(the RED Product) handsets before they (the insurance folks) told me they were out of the red handsets so I ended up getting a gold version and I've had no problem since!
