My iPod (gen 5) won't load past the Apple logo

Usually every month or so, i check up on my ipod just to see if it's still alive, and today i lost my phone so I decided to turn it on. It has been on a loop for about 2 hours after I plugged it in. It shows the apple logo and it fades out over and over again. I tried plugging it into my apple computer but nothing happened. I also tried other options I found online but they all include using the home button, which stopped working months ago. Can someone please help me with this problem? Thanks.

iPod touch, iOS 7.0.5, IOS 7

You need to have the iPod repaired if you want to use it to find your iPhone > iPod Service Answer Center - Apple Support

Thanks for your reply, but I'm not trying to find my iPhone (i already did, someone stole it). I'm just trying to get my iPod to turn on past the apple logo loading screen.
