It is quite simple to make a new red, strike-through character style in Pages v6.1. This would apply to all releases of Pages v5 through v6.1 (current of this post).
Steps
- Select any arbitrary word in Pages v6.1
- Press command+T to launch the Fonts panel
- Click on the strike-through icon on the Fonts panel toolbar
Click color on the menu first, and from the Color picker, choose your vivid red (hex: #FF0000).
- Now, click the single, strike-through menu item on that same menu. A red, strike-through appears in the selected word. I would advise against using bold text with a strike-through.
- Close the Fonts panel and the Color chooser.
- With the red, strike-through word still selected, click on the Format : Text : Character Style selector to the right.
- Click the black +. This will add a new Character style menu item, which you name Red Strike-through. The menu item will not show the red color.
- Optionally, you can move your pointer over the right-end of this new Character style menu item, and follow a sub-menu to assign this new style to F1 - F8 as a shortcut.
With the above steps, you now have a red strike-through character style that you can apply in future Pages documents.
For iBooks Author, you follow the same steps as 1 - 2c above. Then, click the blue styles drawer icon, and under character styles, click the black downward triangle that now appears on the None style, and from that pop-up menu, choose Create new character style from selection..., give it the Red Strike-through name, and optionally, you can modify it here, or simply click OK to have a new visually red strike-through appear in your Character style menu.
