Printer icon in Dock...

I just recently purchased an iMac (late 2015 modelTo be sure, a wonderful machine. When I installed my 2 laser printers (HP Color Pro 252dw, HP Mono P1606dn) and printed test pages for both (successful), both icons displayed themselves in the Dock and, before each printer did its job, a red circle with a number in the center (this time the number was a "1") was displayed. ..nothing new. However, as has been normal in the past where the red circle would disappear when the job had been completed, in this instance, it remained - on the color icon only. I tried deleting both icons within System Preferences >> Printers & Scanners...then re-installing them both. No joy for the color laser. ...minor in the entire scheme of things, but I hadn't done anything differently (installation-wise) and now this. Suggestions?

IMAC (RETINA 5K, 27-INCH, LATE 2015), Sierra OS X 10.12.4, Memory: 24 GB

Went to the HP website. I knew something was different when the fancy HP installer "HP Easy Start" took me to drivers for Sierra!! I had not seen that before...10.11.xx was the highest before today. Anyway, I let the "HP Easy Start" app so its thing and voilá, driver installed, all in working order. As for the HP P1606dn, no joy using the tool. It directed me to use Apple's App Store for that printer and that the driver was already in the OS. Done and done. Thanks yet again. Alan
