Podcasts won't download - iTunes 12.6 - Windows 10 64-bit

After updating to iTunes 12.6 I can no longer download any podcasts into my iTunes library. Prior to 12.6 I had no problems downloading any podcasts. I've tried 6-8 different podcasts on iTunes and can't download podcasts from any of them. I've had to go to each individual website and download it from there, but this is really time consuming and annoying to do. I've tried to log a "problem downloading podcast" entry on iTunes but my request would not post and still could not download the podcast. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go to store, subscribe to podcast, only one podcast will download. Click back to library and click on the podcast title. In the right window, click Feed. You will now see all available podcasts for this subscription and download from there by clicking on the cloud icon.

Thanks for the suggestion, but this didn't work. When I went to the store and searched for searched for the podcast, all podcast episodes were visible immediately. When I clicked on subscribe, the upper bar showed the message that my request had been sent to the iTunes store. No podcast was downloaded automatically after the subscription request message was sent. I then tried downloading some of the podcast episodes and none would download. I tried your suggestion with three different podcasts and none would allow me to download any episodes after I subscribed. Thanks again and any other suggestions?

This only works on my iPhone. However on my iPod classic, it doesn't - as in it does dwnld the first podcast, and even a second one but it's weird because it never shows the actual dwnld. To resolve the issue I was online with apple yesterday for 2 hours and it resulted in me dwnlding all the podcasts to my phone, then computer, then synced to my iPod. Wow, way to go apple, supposed to be making our lives easier, not more difficult. clowns.

I'm having problems as well, can no longer download new podcasts that I haven't subscribed to on iTunes. I managed to download a podcast episode or two, but no more than two, by subscribing to the podcast. However, when I unsubscribed and resubscribed, I was mostly unable to download podcasts again. Tested this with six different podcasts with the same results. Maybe it's time to leave iTunes...

Yes, that is what I plan to do - leave iTunes. Spent better part of yesterday and today with Tech Support on chat and the phone and they are denying this is a problem. Bombard them with support requests. One Tech implied they don't read the boards and only react to actual ticket requests. It is a glitch with v12.6 for Windows but who knows when/if Apple will fix.

I did find a work-around that is a pain but at least works for me. After subscribing to a podcast in "store" click over to the "library" tab. Select the podcast you've subscribed to and all the recent episodes should show. The episodes which have not been downloaded thru the subscription will have a cloud with a downward pointing arrow to the far right on the screen. Click on that and the episode should download. Hope this works for you and let me know a good alternative to iTunes. Before finding this I was just going to each podcast site and downloading them, but that's very time consuming.
