Why buy an 8GB NANO for the same price as a 30GB IPOD???

Hello people,

Both NANO 8GB and IPOD 30GB are at $249US, so why should someone buy a NANO?! I'm trying to understand the pros and cons of each of the two... Thanks for your help,

Cheers!

well i own an ipod nano so i cant really comment on the 30 gb ipod but a nano has about 24 hours battery and yes it is obviously smaller than the 30gb ipod. and as far as i know its like the new mini just a bit smaller (as mentioned) its very lightweight and can fit in ur pocket without a really big buldge (good if u have no other place to put it.)

Hi

I happen to own both. I actually just purchased a 8gb ipod nano. Why? when i already have a 30 gb ipod video. Well Besides the many advantages that the larger ipod has. It lacks in many ways that ive wanted in the ipod nano. The size is muhc smaller yes adn the capacity is too but I got the ipod nano to use specifically to run with and work out on a daily basis. This issomething you cna use the 5 gen ipod for but its got a hard drive instead of flash memory. Which can make it prone to damage from the jarring that occurs when running and the weight is to much.

And on the note of working out I wanted to take advantage of the nike + sport kit which is available only to the ipod nano. And i just love the fact that i cna work out and have more interaction than just using an ipod to listen to music. Yes the 5 gen ipod plays videos but i noticed that this last year i rarely use it to watch videos only if im in a bored situation. So though i have both i use each for seperate reasons. The ipod nano is acompanies me while i workout and any other time the weight and size will be beneficial. The ipod video i will use when I want. IF you cna then get both and youll have the best of both worlds. Or if not then you will need to closely decide what you want and hope to use your ipod for jsut for daily usage and the idea of having your entire music library on you with movies and videos. Or a smaller ipod nano that you can use more effectively for evrything but video content adn have the safety of mind using it while you workout and not damage it. It really comes dowen to what you see yourself using it mostly for adn not just geting 1 or the other for the cool factor. And also remember that ipods do get updated on occasion. Heck before getting the ipod video id owned the last 3 predecessors before it. I just simply upgrade to the new ipod when a new one is released.

Hope this helps

GFF:)
