Buy MBP from friend in US - warranty question

Hi,

I have a friend who is US resident, he is traveling to AUS in couple more weeks; I've been thinking to ask him to buy MBP for me.

What will be the implications on the warranty, consider it will be purchased under his name (for obvious reason, as I won't be there at the time of purchase)?

Will Apple honour the international warranty, under my name at later stage?

Thanks

Yes, but the warranty limitations may be the same. And, you will not be able to buy AppleCare in Oz to cover a computer purchased in the US. Of course, this may not matter because you can always ship it back to the US for warranty repairs. I would wait until the next generation of the 2016 MBPs which should fix a lot of the hardware problems of the first generation models. Then buy it in Oz.
