Downloading Photos from iCloud to MacBook

Hello,

A friend of mine has over 2,000 photos in iCloud, so she would like to download them all to her MacBook and then organize them into folders. The only way that I know to do this currently in iCloud is to hold the Command key and click on each photo to select it, then click on the download option. This becomes rather annoying when you can only do small increments of photos at a time, instead of doing them all at once.

I'm a huge fan of Apple but I really wished that they would fix the issue with downloading your files from iCloud. It can't be that hard to resolve.

Does anyone know a better method to use for downloading Photos from iCloud? Is there an app that could make this much easier?

Any help would be most appreciated!

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)
