There is a new channel that says it is available for Apple TV. I'm told to go to the App Store on my Apple TV, but of course my older Apple TV-2 (2010) does not have App Store on it.
Is there a way to add a new station to my old second gen device> I want to add 'New Thought Channel'. Additionally, can I add the App Store to my older device?
Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), 2.6 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, 512 SSD, 1 TB H

A friend (who is not that tech savvy ;o) said I could go to the App Store website and ask them to add it to my Apple TV2 screen. Sounded fishy, but I had to ask. LOL

No, only the ATV 4 has the capability to download apps.
No, unfortunately there is no such feature on the Apple TV 2. The only way to get access to the Apple TV App Story is by upgrading to an Apple TV 4.
I wish your friend was right, but you won't be able to run Apple TV 4 software on an Apple TV 2.
