What is DAS WebServer?

Got a message on my iMac (OS X 10.11.6) asking if I wanted "the application 'DASWebServer' to accept incoming network connections?" It goes on to state "Clicking Deny may limit the application's behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall pane of Security & Safety preferences." My Firewall is ON and there is no mention therein of DASWebServer. What is DASWebServer? What does it do? Is it needed? Should I "Deny" or "Allow"?

OS X El Capitan (10.11), iMac, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air

Thanks, Phil. Yes, I do have a Seagate drive for external backups. This message appeared when working with it (a re-install). That being the case, I will "Allow" it. I appreciate your quick and thoughtful reply.

It appears to be a process related to Seagate drives.

Do you have any Seagate external drives?

If so you may need to allow it.

Otherwise, you can probably safely deny it.
