Screen turns off on wrist lower

There is a new bug and it is very annoying. When I lower my wrist the screen turns off.

1) I raise my wrist, the screen stays off (this is normal because I have "wake screen on wrist raise" disabled).

2) I tap the screen and the screen turns on

3) I check the time or an app

4) As soon as I lower my wrist, the screen immediately turns off

This just started happening recently and it's driving me crazy.

I tried restarting the watch, no luck. I also tried enabling then disabling the "wake screen on wrist raise" feature, again no luck.

I'm running watchOS 3.2.

When waking the display by raising your wrist (with that setting enabled), it will stay awake for a few seconds without further interaction.

The display can also be set to stay awake for up to either 15 or 70 seconds. This applies when the screen is either tapped on to wake it or is tapped on after being woken by raising your wrist (with that setting enabled).

Regardless of the setting and how the screen is woken, it is normal for the display to sleep if you lower your wrist before it is due to sleep automatically.

This is EXACTLY what is happening to my watch.

updated from 3.1 to 3.2 last night and it WILL NOT stay on when my wrist twist.

As a professional cycle instructor the ONLY reason I went with this watch was the ability to have the face stay illuminated for the longer duration.

Apple needs to fix this ASAP. I will be calling tomorrow and see if I can get a 3.1 replacement watch sent to me (as SP recommended) - i even tried to load a backup of the watch when i was using the older iOS, but it kept the 3.2

this is ridiculous.

I am experiencing the same problem.

After watch ios 3.2 update, my watch display turns off at the slightest twist of my wrist. It is the same whether "wake to raise" is on or not.

This makes my Watch useless when cycling or exercising. It is difficult to view emails or texts and use ApplePay. The dock will not stay active. Some apps will keep the display active but others do not.

I never experienced these problems before updating to watch ios 3.2.

I have been working with AppleCare and sent feedback. I hope Apple comes up with a solution to this problem quickly.

You probably have "wake on wrist raise" enabled, so for you, there is no change in usage and it's considered normal. But for those like me that don't use "wake on wrist raise", this is a change in usage and not considered normal.

Note the setting "Wake for 70 seconds" on tap. That means when I tap the screen, it's suppose to stay on for 70 seconds, regardless of whether I am lowering or raising wrist. That's how it used to work until recently.

"Regardless of the setting and how the screen is woken, it is normal for the display to sleep if you lower your wrist before it is due to sleep automatically."

My experience with using Apple Watch says otherwise. I bought the Apple Watch 2 as soon as it was released and have been using it daily without the screen turning off when I lower my wrist.

I hope this actually is a bug and they change it back. There is not really a point of having an option to keep screen on for 70 seconds if it's going to turn off when you lower your wrist.
