iphone won't sync over wifi

Hi all,

I can't get the iphone to show up in itunes over wifi

I CHECKED = sync with this iPhone over wifi already

I don't want it to auto sync - just manual sync

both on same wifi connection

BTW: (syncs up fine with cable - but I want no cable and wifi)

Q: How do I get iPhone to show up in iTunes?

Hello revDave,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your iPhone won't sync with iTunes over Wi-Fi. You've done a great job trying to isolate and resolve this so far. I have a few other steps I'd like to recommend.

If you can't set iTunes to sync over Wi-Fi, or if sync doesn't work:

  1. Restart your computer and iOS device.
  2. Make sure that your computer and iOS device are on the same Wi-Fi network. Syncing doesn't work over an Ethernet to Wi-Fi connection.
  3. Check your firewall settings. If you use security or firewall software on your computer or router, you can get help with security software. You can also contact the router's manufacturer or check the documentation to learn how to open TCP ports 123 and 3689 and UDP ports 123 and 5353.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi

Have an amazing day!
