Boot chime delayed in macOS 10.12.4

Hello,

Since the upgrade of my (late-2013) iMac to macOS 10.12.4, the boot chime is delayed from about 2 s to 8 s after power-on. The chime itself is the familiar one, and the boot process appears to complete normally.

Disk utility did not detect any problems.

Did 10.12.4 maybe come with a new firmware, implying a change to the POST behavior?

Best regards

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), macOS Sierra (10.12.4)

To add to the issue description, Apple diagnostics did not uncover any problem, and resetting NVRAM did not change anything. So there is actually no indication of a hardware problem, just an irritatingly prolonged POST; since System Information confirms the POST has been passed, possibly some detail of the test has indeed changed ...

Maybe it is trying to locate paired Bluetooth devices that are not currently available?

I'm having the same exact issue with the same iMac (late 2013) 27". I haven't noticed if this started with Sierra, but I only noticed this delayed chime a couple of weeks ago. I did SMC and PRAM reset with no improvements. I bought new RAM just to test if I maybe having some RAM failure, but that did not fix either. I happen to have another iMac of the same model with Sierra installed WITHOUT this delayed chime issue. This is so weird! Others suggest the battery maybe failing and replacing it should fix the issue, but I unplugged my iMac for 3 days and turning it back on, it suprisingly kept time, so the logicboard battery isn't causing the issue. Has somebdy found a cure to this? Can they please share the fix with us? Thanks!

I too have this problem with my iMac 27. I've tried deleting stuff on my hard drive, thinking maybe I had too much stuff, but no difference. Also tried removing all startup apps and resetting RAM, but no change either. I've updated to High Sierra hoping things would change, but nope! I hope we can get an answer for this soon!
