Keychain Access continuously ask authenticate my finger print, I reset my finger print and there doesn't seem to be an issue with it. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

All,

After a macOS update, Keychain access is not continuously asking me to authenticate via the finger print reader. All I have to do is type something into the Keychain access search dialog and I get a pop-up window with request to authenticate. It successfully reads the finger print, but then pop's up again and again.

Anyone else seeing this behavior? Any suggestions? I've successfully reset the fingerprint but no change.

hey, I have the same problem and after several hours over several days trouble shooting with Apple support..we have reached the conclusion that , at least in my case, its the use of Touch ID with pages, numbers, or key note (and probably other Apps ), that causes keychain to behave like that. If yo use Touch ID with any of these apps, that might be the reason why this is happening to you as well. Lemme now and I will give yo some steps to temprorarliy solve it until apple engineers find out exactly whats going on and solve it completely. Cheers.

The sheet protection is not the problem. The problem is using Touch ID to unlock the protected sheet. Here is wtat you should do:

1. Disable Touch ID in numbers and any other app you are using. Simply got to Numbers preference and disable Touch ID. You can leave you password protection as is.

2. You need to reset your Keychain. You will loose and credentials not stored in iCloud so back then up by writing them down.

3. Disable iCloud Keychain from iCloud system preferences and then reboot.

4. Open keychain access , go to preferences, reset default key chain, then reboot

5. In system preferences, delete your current finger prints and create new ones.

6. Test your Keychain search..it should be working fine.

6. Enable iCloud Keychain

7. Run your applications as usual with protection, but don't activate Touch ID for these apps till we hear again from apple.

Lemme know if that worked, and good luck!
