IOS 10.3.1 battery drain issues on iPhone 7+

Since, updating my iPhone 7+, my iPad air 2, my iPad mini 3, my iPod 6 to 10.3.1, all 4 devices are having a major battery drain Issues. I have checked battery in system to see what is causing the issue, always seems the last app I run, is at 75% Home & lock screen around 50%. Everything else 1 to 3%.

Even if I do a full charge, reboot the device and with nothing running, they all are out of battery in the morning. Used to take almost 2 days for the phone to get that way, but now less than 6 hours it is out of charge, same with all the others. I have to leave them one of them on the charger over night just to have one of them with a full battery charge in the morning

before 10.3.1, my 3 month old iPhone would last almost 2 days...my iPad Air over night would be down to 80% but now 1% after 8 hours idle... same for the other 2. Looking at battery after they are idle overnight with a blank screen, home and lock screen is at 50%. Any idea's?

Same issue for my wife and me. All four of our devices (iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPad Air & Air 2) experienced QUICK battery loss following the 10.3.1 update. We filled a Case to Tech Support followed by Two appointments to the local Apple Store. We ended up restoring all four devices AS NEW and still as of today 4/13/17 are experiencing rapid battery loss. My iPhone SE battery less than 5% after 6 hours.

I have the same issue on iPhone 6s+. Updated to 10.3.1 and phone drained in a day on standby. I did everything mentioned on all the message boards and finally reset the phone to factory new, same problem; without any apps loaded it can only be the OS!. Talked to apple tech, said it could be the battery. Since the closest apple store is 85 miles away, I went to a local fix it shop and had the battery replaced, which did not help. Recalled apple and now they refuse to talk to me as I don't have an "apple battery" in my phone. Again reset the phone to factory reset and it drains from 100% to dead overnight without any 3rd party apps installed. With so many other people having the same issue one hopes Apple is listening. We all know they won't admit they did anything wrong but, come on Apple,

FIX OUR PHONES!!!

Wan bit,

Go to Settings > Battery and scroll down to BATTERY USAGE to see the apps that are consuming your battery. If any of the apps have unusually high usage they can be shut down (double tap the Home button, scroll left or right to find the app, then swipe up to shut it down).

As time goes by you should be able focus on the problem apps. Usually it is a rogue app constantly running in the background. You should then be able adjust the settings to the problem app to solve your problem.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for all the replies, those with the same issue those with helping ideas.

1. I have rebooted the tablets/phone so no apps running except home & lock screen.

2. Time since last full charge are usually standby is 1 minute more than usage.

3. Have not turned off send diagnostics yet, will try that and see if that helps.

Again, thanks for the helping ideas.

I have this problem too. This isn't a matter of not knowing how to follow the directions in the "how to maximize your battery life" article or figuring out which apps are using more battery life.

It is quite simple. Before I upgraded my iPhone 6s to 10.3.1 my battery was great because it was only a few months old after a replacement battery was installed under the recall. After the upgrade, my battery life has absolutely plummeted too. There is clearly something affecting battery life in the latest update and Apple needs to address it immediately.

Absolutely correct. I had my battery changed, reset the phone back to factory new, and did not add any apps and still my battery drains to zero over night from 100% on standby! There are many well meaning people giving suggestions on how to get our phones to last longer but why should we have to change all our settings in the hope of extending the battery life. We all know the problem, OS 10.3.1. We paid a great deal of money for these phones and the flexibility to customize the phones to our liking, and now we have to shut down as many of these settings as possible just to extend the battery life. Should not be necessary!! Apple should either allow us to roll back to 10.2 or patch the problem. We know Apple monitors these boards, why not help your loyal customers; that Galaxy phone sure is looking good.

My iPhone 6 lasted two days on a charge before updating to iOS 10.3.1 I barely make 12 hours now and I'm using it less. Stopping all background programs, turning off location services, resetting and restoring it made no difference. I'm going to replace the battery tomorrow but I don't think its going to resolve the battery problem. 10.3.1 did not fix the battery drain issue.

I as well are experiencing this issue. On third replacement 7+!!!

It's as if the Apple Store Genius Bar is in denial the problem even exists.

Presently, I have 4ipads that drain in a half hour. My third iphone 7+ drains slower but is experiencing "fry an egg" heat problems!!

Does anyone else have heat issues along with the significant battery drainage?

Thanks

Upgraded to 10.3.1 this weekend. This morning is the first time that I've had an issue. Went to bed with 80+% husband woke me up because my phone alarm did not go off. Looked at the phone and it was dead. Complete battery drain. No rogue apps, no analytics, nothing different except I did not plug it in. 😮 Almost late for work!
