To select multiple photos at hold down the command key while clicking. You still have to click each photo. After deleting, go to the Recently Deleted Album and delete them there.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

Actually the answer isn't helpful at all. The instructions are clear and easy to follow but in actuality they don't work. I am directed to Photos on iCloud and told that I can select photos and delete them. Unfortunately I can select only one photo at the time and delete one photo at the time, this is a long process given that selecting a photo, deleting it and okaying the action takes 3 clicks, I have only 341 photos and would have to click my mouse only 1023!!! More over even if I did that it wold still not work because it is many days now That I try to delete at least a few videos, iCloud tells me they are deleted but the next day there they are again. I have repeated the process unsuccessfully a few times and always the same poor result.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for the tip on the Command key. Naturally I tried the shift key (click the first and last photo) as it works for other Apple's software as in iPhoto and Mail, that doesn't work. The solution you passed along works but cumbersome because, as you mentioned, I still had to click on all photos, 431 of them. Unfortunatley nothing has been deleted on second look not even after I delete also the recently deleted photos. Frustrating, good thing iCloud isn't the only back up plan I have on the cloud so even if I can't make space I can back elsewhere.
