Cannot open Mailchimp word attachment

Hello

I have sent myself a test email from Mailchimp with a link to a Word document. On my computer and laptop it opens fine but on my iPhone 7 I just get ERROR_MESSAGE_REASON on the top of my phone screen. If I tap the screen I get "Open in Pages" - if I do that the document appears but highly distorted and with images all re-arranged. Would appreciate any suggestions.
