Someone PLEASE help me, I don't know what to do anymore.

I havent used my ipod for a very long time now and when i just turned it on it gave me a picture of the battery and in front of it was a triangle with a line in the middle. Does anyone know how i can get my ipod to start because when i put it to charge nothing happends its all blank. Someone help me please.

Put it on the charger and LEAVE it there for a while. A very dead iPod will have to trickle charge for minutes to as much as a half hour or so until the battery comes up enough to be in the safe level to allow the iPod to fully start up. Until then the screen remains blank.
