Microsoft warning notice

When I try to open safari this warning message pops up on my computer. I've force quit a few times and even restarted but it won't go away. Any idea if it's legit and how can I get it off my computer?

Warning, system has detected instusions and root kits or some dll files are missing from C://windows. Please call urgent to Microsoft certified technician to get this problem at 1-844-225-1185

Seams fake to me but wanted to make sure and find out how to get rid of it. Thank you!

Hi,

It's just a scam ...

Go to your Safari menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click: Manage Website Data. It may take a minute or two for cookies to populate then click Remove All.

Then go to your Safari menu bar again, click History > Clear History

Quit then relaunch Safari.

Personally I see nothing wrong with Safari. Besides it has excellent integration with the other apps on the Mac.

I have no problem installing Chrome on my Macs. I have since uninstalled them after discover how much resources they use.

What happens when you attempt to install Chrome on your Mac?

It is a phishing scam

Try shutting down Safari and then holding down the shift key when you restart it.

1. It's fake.

2. Launch Safari with the Shift key held down, or disconnect the computer from the Internet and close the tab which produced it.

Thank you! I did get it to go off. Is there a better web browser for macs? I like google chrome but it won't install on my computer.
