10.3.1. Disabled Bluetooth Car Audio Connection: Help

Ever since updating my iPhone 6S to 10.3.1 the Bluetooth connection to my car (Ford Sync) won't work.

First, I tried un-pairing and then pairing again, but now the phone won't even detect the Ford Sync.

The phone is detected by my MacBook and the phone will detect the MacBook; the MacBook will give the pairing numbers, but the phone won't show anything to put those numbers. Something was screwed in the Bluetooth system after the update!

Rebooting the phone didn't work!

Pairing with my car audio system through Ford Sync is the most important thing at this moment for me.

Does anybody have a solution for this issue?

Thank you very much!

Hi, givemeabrake!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that you are having trouble using your iPhone 6s with Ford Sync after updating to iOS 10.3.1. I know how convenient, and important, using Bluetooth in the car is, and I'd be happy to help!

First, confirm with Ford whether Ford Sync is compatible with iOS 10.3.1. If so, you may need to install a firmware update on your car stereo system, as suggested in this article: Get help connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo . You can check your car's user manual or with Ford directly for information on updating the firmware.

I also recommend making sure you have completed all the steps under the "If you're using Bluetooth" section of that article. If you're still having trouble after doing so, you can get in touch with Apple Support directly for additional assistance. They can be reached here: Contact Apple Support .

Cheers!

Hi alex

Seems that YES! 10.3.1 broke iPhones' capability to connect to Ford Sync!

Car Sync is up to date.

If it was working fine before before 10.3.1, it's 10.3.1 that broke the Bluetooth connection with Sync. No the other way around.

I don't need the article you pointed to above as the iPhone was connected fine before. I knew and I know the steps to pair with Sync. It's the iPhone that doesn't see Sync Bluetooth connection. Other devices other than iPhones, can!

Apple Support? Do you think is a hardware problem? Really?, no iPhone at home can connect!

Thank you for trying, not hard at all though!
