Can I exchange my broken iPad for a new one?

I just got my iPad six days ago. I was at Bob Evans and I dropped it on the way out. At first I didn't see anything wrong with it, but when I went to play on it, I noticed the home button was cracked. When I push it the screen still comes on, but the touch id doesn't work anymore. My screen also appeared to have taken a big hit because when I turn it on, it's pretty screwed up. It's just a bunch of lines. The touchscreen appears to still work, but I can't see what I'm doing. There was no case on it when I dropped it. I won it and someone else has the receipt. If I manage to get my hands on the receipt, could I have it exchanged or not?
