How to get rid of adware on safari

Hello, i recently downloaded something while browsing, which turned out to be an adware. I keep getting pop-ups, which is pretty annoying. How do i get rid of it please?

I read an article that was posted in 2014 here LINK TO POST, followed the steps and i am creating a new discussion for it, as that article has been there for a couple of years and also, it has been marked SOLVED.
