Audio book won't play on iPod

Newly downloaded (within the last week) audio books won't play on my classic iPod. The books will play in iTunes. I deleted books from iPod and reloaded, still won't play. I also reset my iPod. I can listen to all other audio books just not the 2 I've downloaded within the last week. Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong?

Thank you. I did find mention of my issue in Audible's support and I re-downloaded the audio books with a higher audio quality and that fixed the problem. I appreciate you taking the time to help me figure this out.

This issue is a real problem - I believe Audible is on a mission to prevent people from being able to download books over time. The "enhanced" format is extraordinarily large files - almost .5GB for my most recent (long) book. No way I can keep up with that. They want everyone to use their app and not download, in my opinion. There is absolutely no reason why I should be able to hear a book in itunes and then not be able to play it on my ipod - I had been able to do this since about 2005 with much lower storage. This seems like it would be easy to fix, but they have refused to do so despite many complaints.
