I am trying to airplay from my MacBook air - El Capitan 10.11.6 - Apple TV Model # A1625 tvos 10.2.
Ever time I do the Apple TV displays and access code and I try to enter it on my Mac and it always says it is wrong .
i can airplay from my iPad air 2 and my Ipnone 6+ without putting in an access code. On my Apple TV I tried to disable the passcode but that didn't help. Any ideas?

You will need to enter the access code once in order to use AirPlay, you can't disable the requirement for a passcode entirely, but once you have entered it once it should remember it. Did you have any issues using AirPlay from the MacBook prior to the 10.2 update.
Could you start by letting me know if you are running any kind of screen sharing software, file sharing software or security software on your Mac.
You must have put a code in on your iPad and phone at some point in time if you are using 10.2 on your Apple TV.
Not actually heard of it, but it is often stuff like that that causes issues, are you able to uninstall it for testing. Although simply uninstalling antivirus software doesn't always correct the damage that installing it does.
Sometimes shutting an application down or even removing it won't repair the damage it's done. It may be nothing to do with this software but it's always a suspect until it's ruled out.
By the way, which device says the code is wrong.
i uninstalled the antivirus software , rebooted my Mac and now it works. Thanks for the help.
I entered the access code but it is always denied. i didn't use it before the upgrade.

just tried again and the access code that my Apple tv displayed did not work.
Yes, I understand that, I was just saying that when it does work you shouldn't have to enter it again.
