MacBook Pro Late 2016 (Touch Bar) Battery drain in sleep mode overnight -- Sleep issue

I have noted that during overnight my Macbook Pro Late 2016 drain battery also with lid closed, in average of 7%.

Coming from a MacBook Pro mid 2010 where this is issue was not present, in fact battery remained to 100%.

All this is strange because I have Power Nap disabled, but despite this at every wake up I found all the email already downloaded. I have not cloud service or anything that can operate in background using Wi-Fi connection.

The Console System Log report many activities during sleep state: from ASL and WindowServer , at regular intervals.

Any suggestion?

Thank you for the answer. I have made a test turning off the Wi-Fi connection before closing the lid and as I aspected the battery remained to 100% without any discharge. This was confirmed by the Console Log: in fact there was only one wake up at 3:51 AM.

My battery lasts at most 4:30 h. I'll try SMC reset, but I think that this is a software issue.

Things seem to be a little bit better, I'll do other duration tests in the next days. I have found many background processes that work 24/24 h related to Adobe and two helper of my apps that drain some energy.

Despite I have disabled "Start at login" and unchecked any Adobe items from extensions and login items, these processes are always present, because they are in LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons.

Is it safe to remove adobe file from these folders?

Is it safe to remove Aimersoft Helper Compact from Library/Application Support/Helper simply dragging it into the trash?

Thank you in advance.

Hey -SimonG-,

I see from your post your MacBook Pro is having battery drain while it is sleeping with the lid closed.

While it is normal for there to be some battery drain while the computer sleeps there are a few things you can try to make sure it is working as it should.

The first thing I suggest is an SMC reset. This resets the power management of the MacBook Pro.

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

The next thing I would try is testing in a new user.

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Cheers.

Again the same problem. With the new update (10.12.5) the charge overnight was no more constant, and there is a 7% of discharge.

IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE. Apple support only suggest useless thing such as "try another user", "install OS X on an external drive", "reinstall OS X" instead of search a solution to the problem!!!

I am having the same issue. My MacBook has been sent back three times and they claim they cannot reproduce the issue. Funny thing is they haven’t even kept the computer 24 hours. I will never buy another Apple product and will not suggest anyone else does. For the past 15 years all I have purchased is Apple products and they just don’t care about their customers.
