Apple TV out of sync

Hi guys, my Apple TV has been fine but around Christmas time with no warning everything (literally everything) except trailers had a delay in the audio hence talking in downloaded movies or on netflix is out of sync with the picture, despite the fact that they all worked fine before this random glitch. This hasn't happened on any of my other devices and I have tried restarting the Apple TV and tried restoring to factory settings both to no avail, please can someone help thanks.

They are much the same thing. My first thought is that your sound system isn't processing the audio fast enough. You may be able to help this by changing the Surround sound and Audio Mode settings.

Are you able to test the Apple TV with another TV or if not directly to the sound system or TV in your current set up.

Hi I changed the Dolby digital setting to off and the audio and visual output are both auto and this fixed the problem, thanks for your help

No, the audio is coming from the surround sound system which is connected directly to the TV all of which worked fine before

Thank you, you saved our evening! We are on vacation traveling with my Apple TV and it must have not been compatible with the tv. Thanks for posting.
