How can I recover a deleted email account?

So I was on my phone and decided to check my email and it said I needed to put in my password and I thought ok I'll just do that real quick and check it when I'm done after several attempts it said account for this email has been deleted how can I recover it?

I've had a entire address book under and email account i don't use anymore and with my new iphone the window pop up to enter the password for this account. as i dont use this email anymore (ex company) i deleted that account and with it all my contacts from the last 4 years. any chance to recover?
