FCPx 10.3.3 Buggy?

I just updated to FCPx 10.3.3 and it appears to be buggy. Most frustrating is the cursor is not changing correctly from V to A to H to Z as it should. The region selection R is jumping around and unselectable. When opening the animation view of a clip to add a fade, the cursor does not always change to the handle for adjusting the fade.

I have also just experienced a crash.

Not sure what to do about it, but hope this feedback nudges Apple to do more rugged testing before a release, while also getting 3.3.4 out ASAP.

OK, I deleted my FCPX and re-downloaded it from the appstore and now the problem is fixed (i think/hope). The app must have been corrupted or broken during the last fcpx update or maybe apple silently fixed something in the meantime.

crashing is back this morning. Deleting FCP and re-installing didn't work. I went through all the troubleshooting steps.

Tom, you did you say that you also had this problem with the "trim end" command? So maybe this is a general bug with the new update?

Thanks, I already tried that. I went through all the steps in the help document. Next step would be to reinstall my mac or try on a different machine so I can see if this issue is related to my machine.

I found a trial version of 10.3.2. which I am downloading right now. I let you know if this will fix the problem.

10.3.3 has issues when using Range Selection. The cursor chases the selection region in a sticky fashion, and unable to select the audio level. It seems to come good after several attempts, but very frustrating.

This release needed a lot more testing. Any idea when an update is due?

I am using 10.3.3 and not seeing any of this.

Start by deleting preferences: hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

See if that brings any improvements.

Similar problem I have too. Since yesterday April 17, 2017 my FCPX keeps crashing constantly. Can't do any editing. Very frustrating. Don't know what to do.

I have also lots of crashes. When I try a "trim end" command on a secondary storyline it crashes all the time.

Application became non-responsive a couple of times doing this, but then worked again.

I just had a long call with apple suport. They couldnt reproduce it on their machines. I'm re-downloading fcpx right now again. Maybe this will help.

Try temporarily running FCP X from a new admin user account and see if that also crashes. If not then it is something in your account that has to with the problem.

10.2.3 works. No crashes on "trim end" command. 😀

But it's only a demo version so I hope Apple will fix this bug in the next 30 days...
