Mute notification sounds but still vibrate? [Messenger & Telegram]

Hi there,

I need to be able to mute the notification sounds in Telegram and Messenger(facebook), but still have them vibrate.

The end goal is to have my phone mute, except for incoming calls, but vibrate for everything.

Messenger:

If I set Sound to off in Messenger > Me > Notifications > Notifications in Messenger, it has zero impact(phone still pings and vibrates).

If I set Sounds to off in Settings > Messenger > Notifications, it stops it pinging, but also stops vibration...

Telegram:

If I set Sound to None in Telegram > Settings > Notifications > Message Notifications, it has zero impact.

If I set Sounds to off in Settings > Telegram > Notifications, it stops it pinging, but also stops vibration...

In Settings > Sounds & Haptics, I have all settings set to "vibrate only", except for Ringtone.

IOS version is 10.3.1

Hello rUtlKqDk,

I understand you do not want any sound from the Messages app but you do want it to vibrate. You also want the app Telegram to act the same way.

For the Messages app follow the steps below:

Settings > Notifications > Messages > Sounds
Under Alert Tones choose None
Then go back up to Vibration and tap on the arrow to the right of that
Choose whichever vibration you like
Done

Since Telegram is a third party app, we don't know if it will do the same or not. You can use the same steps above to see if it does.
