Importing from FCP to Shake

I'm a newbie trying to pull in my first clip from FCP.

I mark my in and out points in FCP and send the clip to Shake. Things work great. However, in Shake it is only showing the first 100 frames of the master clip and not the section i want. What am I doing wrong?

Master sequence is 30 minutes. Clip marked 'in - out' for export is about 100 frames in the middle of the master sequence.

Thank you so much for your time on this!

This might help:

At least it's some background info for you.

Also,
-Is the clip selected when you 'Send to Shake?'
-Was the clip you sent a subclip?

i'm a new one to shake myself and i've found that the send to shake operation usually yields less than satisfactory results for me - most likely user error.

in your globals tab, if you click the auto box and then in the timeline, click the house button what happens? with the clip loaded into the parameters area, look in the timing tab and you can change your in and out points there.

however, if you can't get it to work, the workaround i use frequently is to export a self contained movie from fcp of the clip i want to use in shake. this way i can make the the clip as fat as i want. extra steps but i like the extra control that i perceive to have.

Good one's Zeb. Those were the next two suggestions on my list.

Shake will only show 100 frames as a default. Hitting the 'HOUSE' button will load your global paramaters into your timeline.

Do you have any speed changes going on?

I know you said it wasn't a subclip... but if it's normal speed... and you are getting this...

Before sending to Shake... right-click on the clip in FCP's timeline and Modify - Make Clip Independent. Then try and send.

Good luck,
