Something is wrong with Disc Drive? Please Help

I have an ibook g4 and i cannot insert a disc in the drive. It feels like it is hitting something. Nothing appears on my desktop that indicates another disc is in the drive. I can't remember if there is one in there or not. I checked in Disk Utility and it doesn't say there is a disc in the drive. I have tried the shut down, hold eject key...shutdown hold mouse key...turn computer off for an hour... and nothing works. I have had this laptop for about a year. Is it covered under warranty? Have any other ideas of things to try? Thanks

IBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

If you have an external USB mouse, you could try holding down the
button on a mouse, on restart, to see if anything ejects. Using the
eject click-on in iTunes can also eject media. Could be, if someone
put an optical disc inside the drive upside down, it'd be invisible.

You may (or not) have some warranty left on the computer. You
can key in your product's serial number at Apple Support's main
page to see the status of your warranty or AppleCare coverage;
and before the first year of ownership has passed, buy optional
AppleCare extended Protection Plan coverage, and enroll it.

There may also be some open firmware or other means to make an
unrecognized disc media eject, but I have no firsthand experience.

Hopefully this helps.
