I have an iPhone 6 Plus running IOS 10.3.2, a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.12.4, and iTunes 12.6.1.25. I try never to use iCloud for anything. I have never had problems syncing from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro before. I just took some photos on my iPhone. When I connect the iPhone to the MacBook, iTunes launches and starts to sync. However, it hangs on step 6 and the new photos are not synced. I need them to send information to a repair person. The upgrade to 10.3.2 is suspect since it's very recent. I've seen various suggestions to solve this problem, but they don't seem to apply to 10.3.2 or else they don't give sufficient detail on where to find the steps recommended. When it gets to Step 6, it says "Waiting for changes to be applied." The blue bar seems to be all the way to the right and isn't growing larger. I have no idea what to do to fix this problem. I have wifi turned off, but it seems to make no difference whether it's on or off. I can start or cancel wifi sync, but that also has no effect and shows the same message.

Nothing syncs from my Mac to my iPhone. I would love to get the calendar from my Mac to my iPhone without using iCloud. So that part of your response is incorrect. I was able to use Image Capture to get the photos from my iPhone to my Mac, though the sync is still hanging. I tried using Photos, but the photos weren't visible. This software and general iPhone/Mac connectivity is very primitive and buggy.

What in the world does your calendar have to do with this discussion. Maybe you should re-read what I wrong. Better yet, maybe you should actually look at the options in iTunes for syncing data. You CAN sync your calendar from your mac to the phone without using the cloud.

I'm not going to say it's bug free, but what you are describing is not a 'bug'. You have another problem. Troubleshoot it.
