Hi, I have an iPhone 6s, I have the exact same issue and I followed the all of the above instructions. I forced the camera to close, I restarted the phone, and I also reset/restored my phone. Still, I see no live photo icon. My husband has the exact same phone, same aged phone and he does not have this issue. I could use more instructions on fixing this. thank you.

Hi, RudynTai2145!

Thanks for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand you are attempting to take a Live Photo but do not see the option to enable them in the Camera app. I'd be happy to help!

First, make sure your Camera is set to photo mode. You cannot take Live Photos in any other mode of the Camera. More information on taking Live Photos can be found here: Take and edit Live Photos

If you have your Camera set to photo mode and are still unable to set the Live Photos option, try the following steps in order, testing after each:

  1. Force close the Camera app, as described here: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then, reopen the app and try again.
  2. Use the following article to restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  3. Reinstall the iOS software, following the directions in this article. Even though this step doesn’t remove data from your phone, I still recommend creating a backup, just to be safe: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and then If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have a lovely day.

Yes it can I’ve looked at other iPhones. My friend has the 5 she can take Live Photo’s and put it as her wallpaper and stuff and most of My other friends have the 6 not 6 plus but 6 and can and yeah it’s annoying

The iPhone 5 cannot take Live Photos. As ARKBTN explained, your friend probably has an iPhone SE, which looks a lot like the iPhone 5.

Thanks for the update, RudynTai2145!

The setting that you see, AF/AE Lock, refers to Auto Focus and Auto Exposure. These settings are explained more here in the Adjust for the perfect shot section of the iPhone User Guide, but overall they do not affect your ability to use the Live Photos. The icon to turn Live Photos on and off should still be located at the top center of the Camera app.

If you still do not see the icon at all after going through the previously provided steps, the next recommendation is to restore your iPhone back to factory settings, as described here: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings .

You will want to have a backup created before going through that process, following the instructions in the How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch article, as restoring to factory settings will remove all of your content and data from the iPhone. We want this, at least temporarily, to help troubleshoot the issue further. So, after you restore to factory settings, please set the iPhone up as a new device (without restoring your backup). Test the Live Photos out, and if the feature works as expected, go ahead and restore your backup. Instructions on that process can be found here: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup .

Cheers!
