How can I enter the verification code from my phone to my desk top for iCloud?

My desktop is asking for my Apple ID. Once I enter it in, it asks for a verification code that I receive on my iPhone. However, my desktop does not show a link where I can input the verification code in order to move forward. Please advise.

iPhone 5s, iOS 8

When I had the same trouble on my older Apple TV, what you have to do is input your apple ID password again and add the six digit code at the end. So, you would enter this for your password: mypassword123456.

I also found that you only had 30 seconds to do this, so if you waited to long to enter the code, cancel out of it and try again and don't accept the verification code on your other device until you're ready to input it into the computer.

Hi, I've been trying this exact approach for days to no avail. I've restarted my Mac several times too, and it still doesn't work. I tried the app-generated password which did work to bring my iMessage back online but my iCloud is still wrecked. Please help- its messing up my calendar synching, contacts and photos- a real pain in the neck...

The message is always "incorrect password". Looks like this: User uploaded file

I FINALLY HAVE THIS SOLUTION TO THIS ANNOYING CYCLICAL iCLOUD ISSUE!!!

After you've reached the point that you're being prompted to enter a password and verification code... and are having no luck bc theres no place to enter the V code after you enter your password AND

1. You've already tried entering them on the same line as someone else suggested: "password123456" (password+6 digit v code on the same line). But it keeps returning "Password Incorrect" in alarming red letters!

Your problem may be the same as mine: WRONG V Code!

I was repeatedly going to My Apple ID on my Mac when Id get a note that my iCloud account couldn't get online. I'd enter my name & password, wait for the 2 factor verification ping to come thru my iPhone then enter that 6 digit code into the 6 spots to reopen Apple ID on my Mac. Then I'd rush to enter the same v code into the password sequence in the iCloud error window with my password. There was NO OTHER PLACE to get a verification code, so I was caught in this cycle for a week-- until I happened to be messing with my email servers and discovered this lovely trick:

Go to SETTINGS, then MAIL, then ACCOUNTS, then iCloud, then click on YOUR NAME(iCloud account)@ME.COM which should already be loaded at the top of your iPhone, then click on, PASSWORD & SECURITY, scroll down... wait for it... GET VERIFICATION CODE!!! Its right there under your nose buried in the 5th circle of Dante's ****.

Now return to your flaccid iCloud window, enter "password123456" (password+6 digit v code you just retrieved on the same line), and Bingo, you're in!

You're welcome, Mac Users of the World, you're welcome...ks

Thanks for your answer @Ks59 - this worked for me!

For anyone else, just to be super clear.

1. On your mac go to settings>icloud. The password field should show up - don't input anything for now.

2. Then on your iphone/ipad go to Settings>Accounts & Passwords>under 'account' click iCloud>select your iCloud account (usually your name at the top of screen)>Password & Security> and finally select Get Verification Code.

The verification code will now show up on your iphone/ipad.

3. Now go back to your mac and in the password sign in field enter your iCloud password followed immediately after with the verification code from your iPhone/iPad. No spaces. e.g. password123456

I hope this is helpful
