I have a apple notebook, about 5 yrs old. I can't turn Bluetooth on.

I have a apple notebook, about 5 yrs old. I can't turn Bluetooth on. I click the icon on the top screen and thru setting/bluetooth. nothing happens and bluetooth is still off. Frustrating!

MacBook Pro, iOS 10.3.1

Reset the SMC.

I want to connect to my sound bar or Braven. Can't turn Bluetooth on my Macbook pro. Anyone have any suggestions to help me out???
